Nic Bothma

Nic Bothma is an accomplished photographer and visual editor with extensive experience in photojournalism. Currently, Bothma serves as the Founder of Matrix Images, a Photographer for Reuters, and a Visual Editor for the Center for Collaborative Investigative Journalism. Previously, Bothma held the role of Africa Chief Photographer at the European Pressphoto Agency, where participation in major international sports events and coverage of significant news stories across Africa were key responsibilities. Earlier career positions include West Africa Chief Photographer and Photo Editor, as well as freelance work for various international news agencies from 1997 to 2003. Bothma began the photography career at Cape Times newspaper and has pursued ongoing education at Parsons School of Design in Electronic Imaging and Digital Imaging, alongside studies at the University of Cape Town.
