Crystal Schuurmans has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Crystal started their career as a Lab Technician at Family Health - La Clinica, where they performed various tests and provided findings to doctors and physicians. Crystal then worked as a Student Researcher at University of Minnesota Morris, conducting research on fungi degradation of bamboo. Crystal also worked as a Student Manager and Organic Chemistry Researcher at University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point. In their most recent role, they held positions at Matrix Sciences, starting as a Laboratory Technician and progressing to become a Project Coordinator, Project Management Specialist, and Operations & Process Manager. Currently, Crystal is serving as the Director of Operations at Matrix Sciences.

Crystal Schuurmans completed their Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry, Biology, and Spanish at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point from 2010 to 2015. In 2012, they obtained a Certificate in Spanish from Universidad de Valladolid. Crystal later pursued further education and earned a Master's Degree in Bacteriology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, which they completed in 2017.

In addition to their formal education, Crystal Schuurmans also obtained several certifications. In November 2017, they became a Preventive Control Qualified Individual through the Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA). In February 2018, they completed the Genesis R&D Professional Training from ESHA Research.
