Dong Wang

Dong Wang is the Chief Architect at Matroid. Dong was previously a Research Scientist at Houzz from December 2015 to June 2016, where they worked on machine learning for e-commerce using Spark. Prior to that, they were a Software Engineer at Databricks from June 2014 to December 2015, where they worked on big data infrastructure. Dong Wang began their career as a Senior Software Engineer at Twitter from November 2009 to June 2014, where they worked on the Search and Content Division. Some of their project highlights include a user demo modeling age group and location, Hadoop based user recommendation, and tie strength model.

Dong Wang has a Ph.D. in ECE from Carnegie Mellon University, an M.S. in ECE from Carnegie Mellon University, and a B.S. in CSE from the Beijing Institute of Technology. Dong also has certifications from Stanford Online OpenEdx in Convex Optimization, Coursera in Startup Engineering, Coursera in Creative Programming for Digital Media, Coursera in Neural Networks for Machine Learning, Coursera in Functional Programming Principles in Scala, Coursera in Machine Learning, Coursera in Game Theory, Coursera in Natural Language Processing, and Coursera in Probabilistic Graphical Models.
