Robert Gales

Robert Gales is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in system architecture and software development. Currently serving as Principal Software Engineer at Matterport since April 2019, Robert previously held the position of Chief Architect for the Iris Smart Home platform at Lowe's Companies, Inc. from November 2014 to April 2019, focusing on IoT solutions and overseeing the development of integrated systems and features. Prior experience includes a role as Senior Software Engineer at ARRIS, where Robert contributed to scalable server-side projects for home network devices, and as Software Engineer at the University of Kansas, working on biodiversity informatics projects. Robert holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Kansas.
