Sean R. Degrilla

Sean R. DeGrilla, MS, GSP, is a highly experienced professional in environmental health and safety, currently serving as a North American EHS-Senior Associate at Matthews Environmental Solutions since May 2022. Sean is an OSHA-Authorized General Industry Trainer and has played a key role in preparing sites for OSHA Voluntary Protection Program designation while implementing employee-led safety initiatives that significantly improved safety culture and reduced the Recordable Incident Rate by 92%. Previously, Sean held safety and security roles at Amazon and Fluent, where accomplishments included the development of a shelter-in-place plan and cost-saving PPE projects. With a robust background in law enforcement, Sean served as a Sergeant at the Orange County Sheriff's Office, overseeing various specialized units and providing training in legal and safety protocols. Sean is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Occupational Safety and Health/Environmental Management at Columbia Southern University, building on a solid educational foundation that includes a Bachelor of Arts in History and numerous honors.
