Melissa Pessis has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Melissa started their career in 2005 as an Assistant at Euro RSCG Life and later worked as a Human Resources Assistant at Harrison and Star from 2006 to 2008. Melissa then transitioned into nursing roles, starting as a Registered Nurse at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in 2010. During their time there, they held various roles including Interim Clinical Coordinator and Interim Education Coordinator. In 2013, they moved to Southern Hills Hospital and Medical Center where they worked as a Registered Nurse until 2015. Melissa then returned to Northwestern Memorial Hospital and continued working as a Registered Nurse until 2017. In 2017, they moved on to MPAC Healthcare where they worked as an Advanced Practice Nurse until 2018. In 2019, they joined Northwestern Memorial Hospital again, this time in the role of an Advanced Practice Nurse. Melissa also started working as an Aesthetic Nurse Injector at MWP Aesthetics in the same year. Most recently, in 2021, they joined Maven Clinic as a Care Advocate.

Melissa Pessis began their education in 2001 at Penn State University, where they pursued General Studies for a year. In 2002, they transferred to the University of Wisconsin-Madison and earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Family and Consumer Journalism in 2005. After a few years, Melissa decided to further enhance their knowledge and skills by pursuing a Master of Science (MS) degree in Nursing at Rush University from 2009 to 2010. Melissa'seducational journey continued at Maryville University of Saint Louis from 2014 to 2016, where they obtained another Master of Science (MS) degree, this time in Family Practice Nurse/Nursing.
