Paul Vrana

Mr. Vrana joined Maverick as General Counsel in 2018 after having been involved with Maverick as a business partner and investor for over 10 years. Mr. Vrana has been involved in the energy industry for over 32 years starting in 1986 when he completed the Conoco training program and worked in the Lafayette, LA office scheduling gas from platforms in the Gulf of Mexico. After law school, he spent most of his career as a Partner at Jackson Walker, LLC where he was a Co-Chair of the Energy Practice Group. Prior to Jackson Walker, Mr. Vrana was General Counsel for Tractebel Energy Marketing, Inc. where he also managed the contract administration and credit risk groups. Mr. Vrana has been listed in Best Lawyers in America since 2007 in the areas of Derivatives and Futures Law, Energy Law and Natural Resources Law. In 2018, he was named Lawyer of the Year in Energy Law in the Dallas/Fort Worth Region. He received his Undergraduate degree in Finance from Oklahoma State University and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Oklahoma and is a member of the Texas State Bar and the Houston and American Bar Associations.
