Brian Yu

Brian Yu has a strong background in reservoir engineering, with a focus on data analytics and management. Brian started their career at Oxy as a Production/Operations Engineer, where they worked from July 2009 to February 2011. Brian then moved on to become a Reservoir Engineer Staff at Oxy, where they worked from February 2011 to November 2013. Brian then joined Sanchez Oil & Gas Corporation, where they held various positions including Sr. Reservoir Engineer, Manager of Data Analytics, Sr. Engineering Advisor/Catarina Asset Team Lead, and Manager of Reservoir Engineering from November 2013 to January 2019. Currently, Brian is the Director of Reservoir Engineering at Maverick Natural Resources, LLC, a position they have held since February 2019.

Brian Yu earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Data Science from Southern Methodist University from 2016 to 2018. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate studies at The University of Texas at Austin, where they received a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Petroleum Engineering from 2004 to 2009.
