Vedant Chandra

Vedant Chandra is a doctoral candidate in Astronomy & Astrophysics at Harvard University, with a diverse research portfolio spanning multiple prestigious institutions. Currently serving as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Center for Astrophysics | Harvard & Smithsonian since August 2021, Vedant is the Deputy Project Scientist for the Via Project and actively participates in the H3 Survey, Sloan Digital Sky Survey, and Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument projects. At the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy, Vedant collaborates with Professor Hans-Walter Rix to investigate the formation history of the Milky Way. Previous research experiences include serving as an Undergraduate Researcher at The Johns Hopkins University, where insights into white dwarf stars were gained, a Research Intern at the Space Telescope Science Institute, developing computational tools for studying stellar populations, and a co-investigator at Johns Hopkins Medicine, working on signal analysis techniques for spaceflight simulations. Vedant Chandra holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Applied Mathematics from The Johns Hopkins University, and an Indian School Certificate from The Shri Ram School.
