Matthew Callahan has a diverse work experience in the field of clinical data science and informatics. Matthew started their career in 2012 at Boston Children's Hospital as a Research Data Analyst, where they conducted data analysis and statistical programming for clinical research and quality improvement studies. Matthew then moved on to Harvard Pilgrim Health Care in 2015, where they worked as a Technical Program Manager in Drug Policy Research Analytics. In 2018, Callahan joined PerkinElmer, Inc. as a Senior Clinical Informatics Consultant, operating as a solution developer and clinical business analyst. Matthew then transitioned to MaxisIT Inc. in 2021, where they currently hold the role of Senior Principal Clinical Data Scientist, specializing in data and analytics systems.
Matthew Callahan obtained a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2009. Matthew then attended UMass Chan Medical School from 2014 to 2018, earning an MS, MPH in Biostatistics, Chronic Disease Epidemiology, and Health Policy. In addition to their degrees, Matthew also holds certifications in Data Science Foundations, including Data Mining and Fundamentals, obtained from LinkedIn in 2020. Matthew is also a Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), certified in 2018, and a Certified Scrum Master (CSM), certified in 2017, both obtained from the Scrum Alliance.
