Akshay Katpatal

Akshay Katpatal is a Senior Autonomy Engineer at May Mobility, having progressed through roles including Autonomy Engineer II and Autonomy Engineer since March 2021. Previously, Akshay served as a Software Engineer at Galen Robotics from June 2019 to March 2021, collaborating with a diverse team to develop software for the Galen system using C++, Python, ROS, MATLAB, and Qt. An earlier role as a Software Engineering Intern at Galen involved enhancing the system's positional accuracy and creating automated tests. Akshay's academic contributions include work as a Graduate Researcher at the Worcester Polytechnic Institute's Humanoid Robotics Lab, focusing on optimization algorithms for robot motion planning, and a Summer Research Intern position at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, where core concepts of manipulation and dynamics were studied. Akshay holds a Master's degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Shri Ramdeobaba Kamla Nehru Engineering College.
