Hannes Simon Kettner

Research Manager at Maya Health

Hannes Kettner (He/Him) is a Ph.D. student at the Imperial College Centre for Psychedelic Research, where he has designed and coordinated several large-scale observational survey studies over the past five years investigating psychedelic use in naturalistic settings.

Under the supervision of Dr. Robin Carhart-Harris, he launched the Psychedelic Ceremony Study, which has yielded the largest dataset to date prospectively following participants in guided psychedelic sessions. Working closely with psychedelic practitioners during this project, Hannes became interested in the question how real-world psychedelic use can be systematically assessed in order to inform harm-reduction and benefit-maximisation strategies for clinical and non-clinical settings. His work on environmental and psychosocial factors involved in the effects of psychedelics has been published in several peer-reviewed journals and has featured in major media outlets.

Hannes holds a MSc in Cognitive and Clinical Neuroscience from Maastricht University and is currently living and working in the San Francisco Bay Area as a Visiting Research Scholar at the UCSF Neuroscape translational neuroscience center.
