Derrick Hoo

Derrick Hoo is an experienced professional in business development and strategy, currently serving as the Head of Business Development at Maybank Investment Bank (Vietnam) since October 2022, while also holding the title of Senior Manager in the Strategy Group at Maybank Investment Banking Group since April 2022. Derrick's previous roles include Planning Officer at the Ministry of Finance Malaysia during a secondment to LAKSANA, and Head of Product Origination at Maybank Asset Management. Prior to these positions, Derrick worked at Maybank Kim Eng as a Manager in Strategy and as an Assistant Manager in the CEO's Office, and at Alliance Islamic Bank as part of the Strategy & Business Performance team following a Management Trainee Program at Alliance Bank. Derrick holds a Bachelor of Science degree in International Business from Southern New Hampshire University and completed the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia at SM La Salle Klang.
