Marissa Ellingson

Marissa Ellingson is a Licensed, Certified Genetic Counselor and Assistant Professor of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at Mayo Clinic, where responsibilities include supporting exome/genome sequencing and microarray, reviewing testing appropriateness, evaluating genetic variants, and client communication. Previously, Marissa worked on cancer genome research studies within the Center for Individualized Medicine's Pharmacogenomics Program, focusing on patient consent and variant classification, and provided genetic counseling in the Department of Medical Genetics, facilitating risk assessment and patient support. Additional experience includes serving as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Minnesota and as a Quality Assurance Auditor at Covance. Marissa holds a Master of Science in Genetic Counseling from the University of Minnesota and a Bachelor of Science in Genetics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
