Hugh Hanlon's work experience begins in 1993, when they worked as an Accountant at Russell Brennan Keane. Hugh then moved on to become the Financial Controller at AMSE Ltd, where they established and grew the finance function of the company. In 2002, they became the Financial Controller - Ireland at Atkins, a multinational engineering consultancy, and played a key role in integrating the newly acquired business into the UK parent company. In 2005, Hanlon joined Irish Broadband as the Financial Controller, responsible for scaling and developing the finance department. From 2007 until 2017, they served as the Finance Director at I.T. Alliance Group, a privately-owned IT consultancy company. Currently, they are the CFO at Mazars Ireland, where they lead a team of over 700 staff and provides a range of financial services to clients.

Hugh Hanlon completed their Bachelor's Degree in Finance from University College Dublin from 1990 to 1993. Hugh later pursued a course in Strategic Leadership for CFO's at Stanford University Graduate School of Business from 2014 to 2015.
