Vipin Vijayakumar has extensive work experience in the field of research and development, infrastructure, and operations.
Vipin is currently serving as the Vice President of R&D Infrastructure and Operations at Maze Therapeutics since March 2023. Prior to this, they held the position of Vice President of Research Infrastructure from March 2021 to March 2023, and Head of Research Infrastructure from October 2018 to March 2021.
Before joining Maze Therapeutics, Vipin founded Acorn Instrument LLC in May 2009 and continues to be involved in its operations.
Vipin also worked at Cytokinetics Inc, where they held multiple roles over the years. Vipin served as the Senior Director of R&D Technologies from July 2017 to September 2018. Before that, they held the positions of Director of Discovery Technologies from July 2014 to June 2017, Associate Director of Discovery Technologies from July 2012 to June 2014, Senior Group Leader from March 2011 to June 2012, Senior Automation Engineer from November 2008 to February 2011, Automation Engineer III from June 2007 to October 2008, Automation Engineer II from July 2005 to May 2007, Systems Integrator from October 2002 to June 2005, and Automation Specialist III from December 2001 to September 2002.
Vipin started their career as a Research Assistant/Research and Development Engineer at Tennessee Technological University from September 1999 to December 2001. Vipin'swork involved developing intelligent sensor fusion algorithms to improve the reliability of sensor data for system control, particularly for an iron melting furnace as part of a DOE grant project.
Vipin Vijayakumar obtained a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Bharathiar University, where they studied from 1995 to 1999. Vipin then pursued a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering at Tennessee Technological University, which they completed from 1999 to 2001.
