Sifiso MacHi

Sifiso Machi currently serves as Engineering Manager at Mbuyelo Coal, overseeing operations and maintenance in opencast mining and plant processing since July 2022. Previously, Sifiso held various engineering roles at Thungela, including Section Engineer at Zibulo Colliery Underground, and at Anglo American, serving as Shaft Engineer, Plant Engineer at Goedehoop Colliery, Project Manager for the Proximity Detection System Implementation Project, and Project Engineer on the same project aimed at enhancing underground safety by implementing collision avoidance technology. Sifiso's early career included experience as a Junior Engineer, focusing on surface engineering, underground coal engineering, and processing plant operations. Academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cape Town, an Electrical Engineer's Government Certificate of Competency from the Department of Mineral Resources, and a Programme for Management Excellence from GIBS Business School.
