Beverley O'Malley

Chief Mine Geologist at McEwen Mining

Beverley O'Malley has extensive work experience in the mining industry, starting in 1991. Beverley has held various roles such as Mine Geologist, Senior Mine Geologist, Project Geologist, and Exploration Geologist in open-pit mines and exploration projects in New Zealand and Australia. From 2001 to 2004, Beverley worked as an Exploration Geologist in BHP's Reserve Definition Group, focusing on Channel iron ore deposit and Banded Iron Formation. Beverley then joined Barrick Gold Corporation in 2005, where they held positions including Senior Geologist - Open pit and Senior Geologist - Underground in the Yilgarn Greenstone Belt and Chief Geologist - Underground in a Carlin style gold deposit. From 2019 to 2020, Beverley served as the Chief Geologist at Nevada Copper Corp. In 2020, they worked as the Director of Business Operations at Nimbus, contributing to a start-up project for an engineered anti-microbial non-medical mask. In 2021, Beverley became a Senior Geologist at Hycroft Mining Holding Corporation, focusing on ore control activities and an exploration project for gold and silver deposits. Beverley then moved on to a short-term contract as a Safety Consultant before joining McEwen Mining Inc. in 2023 as the Chief Mine Geologist.

Beverley O'Malley completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Geology from the University of Otago in 1990. Later, they pursued their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business from Curtin University, which they completed in 2002.
