Shaohai Yu

Shaohai Yu has extensive work experience in the field of metallurgy and process engineering. shaohai most recently served as the Chief Metallurgist at McEwen Mining Inc. since July 2018. Prior to that, they held the role of Sr. Metallurgist at Barrick Gold Corporation from March 2016 to June 2018. shaohai also worked as the Chief Metallurgist at Allied Nevada Gold Corp from November 2014 to February 2016, as well as a Sr. Metallurgist at Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc. from April 2014 to October 2014. Earlier in their career, Shaohai worked as a Principle Process Engineer at FLSmidth Minerals from January 2009 to April 2014. shaohai also gained experience as a Mineral Processing Specialist at Derrick Corporation from 2005 to 2008 and as a Process Engineer at DaTong Coal Mines from 1996 to 2001.

Shaohai Yu completed a Bachelor's Degree in Mineral Processing at China University of Mining and Technology. shaohai then pursued a Master's Degree in Mining and Mineral Engineering at the University of Alaska Fairbanks from 2001 to 2003. Later, they attended the University of Kentucky and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Mineral Processing between 2003 and 2005. Lastly, Shaohai Yu earned another Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Utah, starting in 2010 and with no specified end year.
