Muhammad Asim, CFA has a diverse work experience that spans over several years. Muhammad started their career as a Business Analyst at Jang Group of Companies, where they were responsible for financial projections, reviewing financial plans, and coordinating treasury and corporate finance activities. Muhammad then moved on to First Capital Investments Ltd, where they held the position of Senior Manager - Fund Management. In this role, they led the investment management function, managing closed-end equity funds and corporate equity portfolios while also supervising the research function.
Following their time at First Capital Investments Ltd, Muhammad joined MCB Funds, where they held various roles. Muhammad served as the Chief Investment Officer and was responsible for guiding investment decisions. Muhammad also held the role of Head of Equity Funds and played a crucial role in the design and successful launch of Investment Advisory Services. Additionally, Muhammad served as a Portfolio Manager Equities, managing open-end mutual funds and advised retirement funds on appropriate asset allocation.
In recent years, Muhammad has taken up leadership positions in professional organizations. Muhammad served as the President of CFA Society Pakistan and was a Member of the Board of Directors at the Institute of Financial Markets of Pakistan.
Muhammad Asim, CFA completed their MBA with a specialization in Finance from the Institute of Business Administration between 2001 and 2003. Muhammad then earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation from the CFA Institute, focusing on Investments and Securities during the period from 2006 to 2009. Additionally, they attended the Investment Management Workshop at Harvard Business School Executive Education in 2018.
