Ward started their career in 1984 as a Financial Advisor at Dean Witter. Ward then moved to Prudential Bache Securities in 1987 where they worked as an Investment Broker. In 1991, they joined A.G. Edwards & Sons, Inc. as a Branch Manager/Investment Advisor. In 2008, they became Managing Director - Investments at Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC.

Ward Petty's educational career began at McCallie School. Ward then went on to earn their BS in Accounting from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
