April Eyet has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. April started their career at Woodbourne Center in 1999 as a Program Coordinator, where they provided administrative services for three school-based health clinics. April then moved on to The Family Tree, Inc. in 2000 as a Special Events Coordinator/Administrative Assistant, where they assisted in the developmental and fundraising department.
In 2001, April joined Kelly & Associates Insurance Group as a Team Leader of Benefits Implementation Specialist and later became a Senior Implementation Specialist. Their responsibilities included managing incoming clients, training off-site, creating process and procedures, and maintaining statewide updates for benefits laws. April was also in direct contact with carriers, employer groups, and brokers.
In 2010, April worked at BenefitMall as a Supervisor of Payroll Implementation, where they were responsible for processing payroll data and training clients on the web product. April also handled Time and Attendance and operational procedures.
From 2011 to 2013, April worked at Group Benefit Services as a Manager of Client Implementation, where they managed all aspects of new business for payroll clients and benefits integration. April coordinated communications, paperwork, training, and setup of multiple systems.
April then started their own business in 2013 called Custom Office Assistance, where they offered office assistance on a contractual basis to businesses. April provided services such as payroll, spreadsheets, company manuals, policy and procedures, team buildings, and event planning.
In 2016, April joined Trades of Hope as a Compassionate Entrepreneur, where they worked with artisans in different countries to provide them with a sustainable wage and combat issues like sex trafficking and poverty.
Finally, since 2014, April has been working at McConkey Insurance & Benefits. April started as a Senior Client Service Coordinator, supporting a Senior Consultant on 100+ employee client accounts. In 2016, they became an Associate Consultant, focusing on managing client insurance needs and evaluating appropriate benefits, wellness programs, and cost containment strategies. Most recently, in 2018, they transitioned to the role of Employee Benefits Executive Consultant, where they focus on designing comprehensive benefit packages for employers and their employees while considering budget and strategic goals. April analyzes data, models contribution options, and ensures the best plan designs and funding.
April Eyet attended the Community College of Baltimore County from 2000 to 2002, where they studied Chemical Dependency Counseling and Psychology. April also took additional courses in Psychology at the Community College of Baltimore County in 2001. In 1997, April Eyet enrolled at Notre Dame of Maryland University, where they studied English. April later pursued a degree in Psychology and English at Notre Dame of Maryland University. In terms of certifications, April Eyet obtained a Resident Producer Individual License in Accident and Health, Life and Fixed Annuities from an undisclosed institution in July 2014. April also obtained certifications in AED, Adult First Aid, and CPR from the American Red Cross in February 2016.
