Barbara Zvan is a seasoned leader in sustainable finance and risk management, currently serving as the President and Chief Executive Officer of the University Pension Plan Ontario since July 2020. Zvan holds influential roles including Investment Committee Member at the McConnell Foundation, Inaugural Chair of Climate Engagement Canada, and Chair of the Taxonomy Technical Expert Group for the Government of Canada's Sustainable Finance Action Council. Additionally, Zvan serves as Co-Chair of the C.D. Howe Institute's Pension Policy Council and remains active as a board member for several organizations, including the Responsible Investment Association and the Global Risk Institute. With a notable career at the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan, Zvan held various senior executive positions for over twenty years, contributing to significant advancement in investment strategies and risk management. Zvan's academic background includes a Master's degree in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Waterloo and a Bachelor of Science degree from McMaster University.
