Harmony Harrington

Ms. Harrington currently serves as Vice President of Government and Community Relations for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois (BCBSIL, a division of Health Care Service Corporation) leading government relations, internal and external communications as well as community investment teams on behalf of BCBSIL’s members.

Ms. Harrington has had extensive experience managing regional, state and local government, issue advocacy and media relations in health care. She previously led Corporate Affairs (legislative and regulatory) efforts for Humana, Inc. in the Midwest region. Prior to her work at Humana, Inc., she served as Director of State Government Relations for non-investor owned BCBSIL, as well as Manager of State Government Relations for the northeast, mid-Atlantic and southern regions for Walgreen Co.

Prior to her corporate government affairs experience, Harmony served as Staff Attorney for the Illinois House of Representatives (civil law, elections, ethics and campaign finance reform). During the Ryan Administration (1999-2002), she also held multiple positions working for Lt. Gov. Corinne Wood, including travel aide, director of operations and legislative director. During the Blagojevich Administration (2003-2004), she worked for Lt. Gov. Pat Quinn as a legal policy assistant.

Harmony graduated from Loyola University Chicago School of Law.
