Miss Lisa Abrams ensures that Haymarket Center’s 200+ employees are equipped with appropriate skills and tools to deliver outstanding client care. She assesses, develops, and facilitates internal training activities, workshops, and classes on diverse topics such as cultural humility, client engagement and motivation, and the most current trends in evidence-based practices. Miss Abrams joins the leadership team and collaborates with other agency leaders and clinical employees to create and manage a calendar of training sessions to promote employees in their professional development. In consultation with the agency’s licensing and accreditation bodies, the Illinois Department of Human Services, Division of Substance Use Prevention and Recovery (SUPR) and the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), Miss Abrams ensures that yearly compliance refresher sessions are completed for the agency’s 200+ employees.
For over 15 years, Miss Abrams has provided therapy to clients and their families who are suffering from substance use disorder and other mental health issues. Miss Abrams is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and a Certified Supervisory Alcohol and other Drug Counselor (CSADC). She has previously served as Clinical Operations Supervisor at Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation and Executive Director of Chicago Operations for Rosecrance. Miss Abrams assumed the role of director of staff development and training at Haymarket Center in 2019. She earned an MA in Professional Counseling and has undergraduate degrees in English and Political Science from DePaul University at Chicago.
