Michael Chu currently serves as the President Elect of the Inter-Pacific Bar Association and has been a Partner at McDermott Will & Emery since February 2014, leading the Chicago Intellectual Property Practice Group. With a focus on patent law, Michael represents clients in various intellectual property matters, including litigation and portfolio development, contributing extensive experience in both domestic and international cases. Prior to McDermott, Michael was a Shareholder at Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione, where involvement included negotiations and comprehensive patent application processes. Michael held the presidency of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association from 2004 to 2005 and has contributed professionally as a photographer for MikesRightBrain.com and Flashes of Hope since 1990. Michael’s education includes a J.D. from William & Mary Law School and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
