Chief Communications Officer at McDonald's

Michael is responsible for setting integrated communications strategies that advance the message of the brand and drive business impact in more than 100 markets around the world. He oversees a team focused on protecting and advancing the reputation of the company through corporate communications, including media relations and financial communications; global public affairs and public policy; issues and crisis management; internal and strategic communications and communications for McDonald’s International Operated Markets and International Development Licensee Markets.

Prior to joining McDonald’s, Michael served as Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs at Chobani, a leading natural food company, where he served as a member of its executive leadership team and oversaw strategic communications initiatives for the company, as well as public affairs, government relations, sustainability and the company’s philanthropic efforts.

He previously served as Vice President of Weber Shandwick, a leading global public relations firm, where he supported some of the largest brands in the world through issues management and corporate communications.

Michael began his career as a reporter. He earned a bachelor’s degree with honors from Brown University and lives in Chicago, IL, with his wife and son.
