Kara Zimmerman

Director, Arts at McDonogh School

Kara Zimmerman has been working in the field of Arts Education for over ten years. Kara is currently the Director of Arts at McDonogh School, where they oversee the entire Arts curriculum for the school. Prior to their current position, Kara was the Director/Teaching Artist at The Tatnall School, Tower Hill School, and Wilmington Friends School. Kara has also worked as a Teaching Artist for Child Drama Workshop and Prince Music Theater. Kara has a passion for teaching and believes that the arts are an essential part of a well-rounded education. Kara is committed to providing students with opportunities to explore their creativity and express themselves through the arts.

Kara Zimmerman attended Muhlenberg College for their undergraduate degree, where they studied theatre and dance. Kara then went on to complete their Master's in Education at Johns Hopkins University School of Education with a focus in neuroeducation.

Kara Zimmerman reports to David J. Farace, Head of School. Some of their coworkers include Michael Green - Director of Upper School Counseling, Jack Hardcastle - Chief Information Officer & Chief Risk Officer, and Kerry Johnston - Chief Philanthropy Officer.
