Ruth Vega

Ruth Vega has a variety of finance and accounting roles throughout their work experience. Ruth currently serves as the Director of Finance at McGaw YMCA since 2022. Prior to that, they worked as the Finance Director at YouthBuild Lake County from 2015 to 2022, where they were responsible for creating and managing the annual agency budget, producing monthly and quarterly reporting to the agency board of directors, and redesigning the agency accounting system. Ruth also briefly served as the Assistant Controller at YouthBuild Lake County. Before that, they worked as a Senior Corporate Accountant at Main Steel Company from 2015 to 2015, where they assisted with month-end close activities and reconciled cash. Ruth also served as a General Accountant at Aleris from 2012 to 2015, assisting the Controller with day-to-day operations and performing various accounting tasks.

Ruth Vega obtained their Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Business/Management from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, where they studied from 2001 to 2005. Later, they pursued a Masters degree in Accounting and Finance at the Keller Graduate School of Management of DeVry University, from 2008 to 2010.
