John Merritt has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. John began their career in 1972 as the Chief of Staff to U.S. Congressman Charlie Rose in the U.S. House of Representatives. In 1991, they served as the Staff Director for the U.S. Congress Joint Committee on Printing. In 2001, they became the Co-Chief of Staff for the Office of Governor Michael F. Easley in the State of North Carolina. In 2009, they joined McGuireWoods Consulting as a Senior Vice President. Currently, they are working as a Principal Consultant at Dramtree Consulting since 2017.
John Merritt attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 1969 to 1973. During this time, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree with a major in History.
