Rudy Horist

Rudy Horist, MS, EFO, CFO, has extensive experience in fire service leadership, currently serving as Fire Chief of the McHenry Township Fire Protection District since June 2010. Rudy holds multiple roles including Fire Service Consultant at McGrath Consulting Group, Inc. and instructor at Haigh Solutions, LLC. In addition to serving as a Board Member for the Illinois Fire Chiefs Association - Educational and Research Foundation, Rudy contributes as an Area Representative and Legislative Committee Member for the Illinois Fire Chiefs Association, as well as a Board Member for the NERCOM Regional Dispatch. Rudy previously held the position of President of the McHenry County Fire Chiefs Association and was an instructor for the Illinois Society of Fire Service Instructors. Rudy earned an M.S. in Public Safety Administration from Lewis University and is a graduate of the National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officer Program.
