Daniel Trujillo

Partner, Global Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer at McKinsey & Company

Daniel is McKinsey’s Chief Compliance Officer and is based out of the Austin office. He is a global executive with 30 years of experience leading compliance, ethics, and legal departments. He has a deep passion for driving transformation and change, as well as behavioral and procedural improvements, through collaboration and leadership. During his career, Daniel has held numerous leadership roles in different industries and has worked in more than 70 countries worldwide, including Africa, Europe, Latin America, and the United States. He has a proven record of implementing positive change in large organizations through collaboration with multiple stakeholders in complex environments.

Prior to joining McKinsey, Daniel worked with Walmart as part of its compliance-enhancement efforts and co-led its risk-management program. He also spent 15 years with Schlumberger Limited in various compliance, ethics, and governance roles, including internal litigation, joint ventures, and M&A transactions. He also served as an attorney with a litigation boutique firm and a civil court in Argentina.

Throughout his career, Daniel has worked with multilateral initiatives and organizations like the World Economic Forum, where he helped support the use of technology and digitization to combat corporate corruption in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.

Daniel was born in Argentina and speaks five languages—English, French, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish. He graduated from the law school at the University of Buenos Aires and has an MBA from the University of Salvador, as well as a master of international-commercial law (LLM) from the UC Davis.

Passionate about connecting with others and helping people grow in their professional careers, Daniel serves as a board member of the PeopleForBikes foundation, is a chairman of the Ozark Outdoor Foundation, and sits on the advisory board of the American Conference Institute and the Robert B. Rowling Center for Business Law & Leadership.
