Valeria van Zijl

Valeria van Zijl is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the financial and consulting sectors. Currently serving as an Associate Partner at McKinsey & Company since May 2024, Valeria has also held the position of Director at Finalta by McKinsey since January 2013, where responsibilities include managing Central European client relationships in retail banking. Prior roles at HSBC from September 2009 to January 2013 involved strategic development and marketing for high-value retail banking propositions, alongside various international positions within the bank. Earlier, Valeria gained invaluable experience as a Trainee in the Office of the Prosecutor at the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, contributing to the prosecution of war criminals. Valeria holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and History and a Master of Arts in International Affairs with a focus on International Finance and Policy, both from Columbia University.
