Brent Smith

Brent Smith, FHFMA, has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Brent has been with McLaren Health Care since 2016, first as a Regional Director Net Revenue and currently as a Corporate Director Net Revenue. Prior to that, Brent worked at McLaren Flint as a Reimbursement Manager, where they were responsible for managing the daily functions of the reimbursement staff and implementing a strategic financial planning process. Brent also has experience in academia, working as an Instructor at Michigan State University and as a LEO Intermittent Lecturer at the University of Michigan-Flint. Earlier in their career, Brent served as a Senior Reimbursement & Planning Analyst at Hurley Medical Center, handling cost report preparation and data gathering for FI audits. Brent also worked as a Mcare Auditor II at National Government Services, conducting desk reviews and settling cost reports during hospital audits.

Brent Smith, FHFMA, has a strong educational background in accounting. Brent obtained a Masters of Business Administration and a Bachelors of Business Administration with a focus on accounting from the University of Michigan-Flint. In addition to their degrees, Brent has obtained certifications from the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) including FHFMA and Certified Healthcare Financial Professional in 2016.
