Monique B.

Monique B. has a strong background in communications and journalism. Monique currently holds the position of Executive Director, Strategic Communications at McMaster University, where they previously served as the Director and Associate Director of Strategic Communications. In those roles, Monique was responsible for creating strategic communications strategies, overseeing content creation in various mediums, managing advertising campaigns and video projects, and supporting media relations. Monique also served as the Manager of Communications for the Faculty of Engineering at McMaster, where they led communications and marketing efforts, including speech writing and advising leadership on communications issues.

Before joining McMaster University, Monique worked at Sun Media as the Digital Content Director, leading a centralized digital newsroom and providing national and international content for various websites. Monique also served as the National Community Manager at Sun Media, where they set social media strategy and trained staff on new platforms.

Prior to Sun Media, Monique worked at the St. Catharines Standard as the City Editor, leading a team of journalists and overseeing the news desk. Monique also worked as a Reporter at the St. Catharines Standard, where they spearheaded major online projects and introduced social media platforms to the newsroom.

Monique began their career as a Reporter at the Orillia Packet and Times and The London Free Press.

Monique B. attended McMaster University from 2015 to 2022, where they pursued a degree in Marketing with a concentration in Digital Marketing. Additionally, they studied Journalism at Toronto Metropolitan University and completed a BA with honours in Sociology at King's University College.
