Wally Eastland

Director of Scenic Design and Fabrication at McNally Enterprises

Wally Eastland has an extensive work history in the scenic design and fabrication industry. Wally began their career in 1989 as the Resident Designer and Technical Director at Temple Theatre Company, where they were responsible for designing lighting and scenery for all in house productions, managing all technical aspects of the theater, and coordinating and installing all touring and external productions. In 1994, they became the Resident Designer at Capitol Theatre Summer Stage. In 1999, they joined Microsoft as a Support Architect, where they scoped, sold, delivered, and led complex projects in South East Asia, South Korea, Australia, and New Zealand. Wally was also responsible for leading a group of three managers and 27 consultants, and was directly, or in collaboration with others, responsible for over $15 million AUD in consulting projects over a three year period. In 2015, they joined United Scenic Artists Local 829 as a Lighting Designer. In 2017, they became the Resident Designer/Instructor at Southern Arkansas University. Finally, in 2022, they joined McNally Enterprises Inc. as the Director of Scenic Design and Fabrication and Project Manager.

Wally Eastland obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) in Technical Theatre/Theatre Design and Technology from Western Carolina University between 1988 and 1992. Wally then went on to complete a Master of Fine Arts - MFA in Theatre/Stage Design and Scenography from the University of Idaho in 2020. In addition, Wally has obtained certifications in UEENEEE101A - Apply Occupational Health and Safety regulations, codes of practices in the workplace, UEENEEP026A - Conduct in-service testing of electrical cord connected equipment and cord assemblies, and PRINCE2 Certified Project Management Practitioner from Test and Tag Training and APMG-International, respectively.
