Kim Johnstone has had a diverse work experience in the field of HR and people management. Kim started their career in 2006 as a Training Consultant at Kwik Fit Insurance Services, where they delivered induction training and designed training materials. Kim also took on the role of HR Business Partner, managing HR issues for aligned business areas. In 2012, they moved to Prudential Assurance where they held various roles, including L&TD Training Consultant, L&TD Relationship Consultant, and HR Business Partner. In these roles, they were responsible for designing and delivering management development programs, supporting talent planning, and acting as an interface between HR and the business. In 2019, they joined RSA as an HR People Manager before assuming their current role as Director of People and Corporate Services at MDDUS.

Kim Johnstone completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Politics at the University of Strathclyde from 2002 to 2006. After a gap, they pursued their Master of Science degree in Workplace Lifelong Learning and Development at Glasgow Caledonian University, which they completed from 2008 to 2011.
