Susan Rita Ruel

Susan Rita Ruel is a seasoned communications professional with extensive experience in health editorial roles and nonprofit management. Currently serving as Health Editor for MDEdge, Ruel specializes in hematology and oncology. Prior to this, Ruel was the Publications Manager at Amida Care, overseeing a communications team for New York's largest Medicaid managed care plan. Ruel's career includes strategic communication roles at organizations such as the Visiting Nurse Service, McKinsey and Company, and IBM, where Ruel has demonstrated expertise in editing, publication management, and digital communications. Holding a B.A. from Harvard University, an M.A. from Indiana University Bloomington, and a PhD from the University of Denver, Ruel also has a background in academia as an Assistant Professor at the University of Delaware.
