Nicolas Vanasse

Nicolas Vanasse is the Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary at mdf commerce. He has 20 years of business experience, including practising law and managing a legal team, as well as analyzing, structuring, negotiating and closing sophisticated commercial and corporate transactions.

Prior to joining mdf commerce, Mr. Vanasse was Senior Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary for eStruxture Data Centers Inc, a provider of data center infrastructure, as well as Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary for Lumenpulse Inc, a manufacturer of specification-grade LED lighting solutions for commercial environments. He was also Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary for Enerkem Inc., a waste-to-biofuels and renewable chemicals company, and for Aveos Fleet Performance Inc., an international aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul provider. Mr. Vanasse previously practised law in the Business Law Group of Stikeman Elliott, one of Canada’s largest business law firms, where he developed extensive knowledge of sophisticated financing and M&A transactions involving large national and multi-national corporations. His practice at Stikeman Elliott focused on counselling public and private companies, investors and investment banks.

Mr. Vanasse holds a Bachelor’s degree in civil law from the University of Ottawa and he also studied political science and industrial relations at Laval University. In 2010, he won the Tomorrow’s Leader Award at the Québec General Counsel Awards, and, in 2014, he was finalist for the Small-Midsize Law Department Excellence Award at the Québec General Counsel Awards.
