Axel Maier, CFA

Axel Maier, CFA has over two decades of experience in the financial services industry. Axel began their career in 1998 as Managing Director and Member of the Board at Baring Asset Management AG - Germany. In 2002, they moved to Wellington Management as Head of Europe - Global Relationship Group. In 2012, they were appointed Managing Director - Head of Asia at Macquarie Investment Management. In 2017, they joined the Board of Directors of Cambodian Children's Fund, where they were responsible for transforming impoverished kids into tomorrow's leaders. In 2018, they were appointed Chair Of The Board Of Trustees at Cambodian Children’s Fund UK. In 2019, they founded Singularity Advisors Ltd and became a Governor at Judith Kerr Primary School. In 2020, they were appointed Global Head of Business Development at MDOTM. In 2022, they will become a Member of The Board of Advisors at PACEUPinvest® GmbH.

Axel Maier, CFA obtained their Dipl.-Kfm. in Business Administration from the University of Tübingen between 1988 and 1993. During 1991 and 1992, they attended the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School for Business Administration. In August 2020, they completed the Oxford Artificial Intelligence Programme at the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. Axel is also a CFA, certified by the CFA Institute.
