Julie Glew

Director, Research Technology Unit at MDRC

Glew is the director of MDRC’s Research Technology Unit. She trains and supports MDRC research staff members in the use of SAS, R, and other software packages used for data processing and analysis. She has a unique mix of systems knowledge and deep programming experience, and is able to use this skill set to help MDRC projects make decisions about how to process data from many varied sources most efficiently and cost-effectively. She works closely with MDRC project teams and has a solid understanding of the organization’s best practices in data management. Glew’s work experience outside of MDRC includes time as an information technology consultant at a Big Four consulting firm, a product manager at a software start-up, and an independent consultant on data analytics. Glew has a BA in public policy studies from Duke University and a master’s in business administration from the University of California at Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, where she focused on innovation and technology management.
