Jim MacDonald

Jim MacDonald is a seasoned software manager with extensive experience in software development and engineering. Presently, Jim serves as the Manager of nxDAS R&D at MDS Aero Support Corporation since December 2019, leading a software team focused on nxDAS software. Prior to this role, Jim worked at Ciena Communications from 2010 to June 2019, managing performance, fault management, and diagnostic tools related to OME 6500 and CPL systems. Jim's career at Nortel spanned over 14 years, where responsibilities included software management for various products, including MEN, OME, CPL, Passport (MultiService Switch), and DMS Clocks. Jim began at Nortel as a software designer on projects such as DMS-BUS and the Test and Traffic System (TATS). Educationally, Jim holds a Bachelor of Computer Science with Honours from Acadia University, earned between 1982 and 1986.
