Julia McInnis has a diverse work experience in various industries. Julia is currently the Director of Business Operations and Partnerships at Meadowlark Media since March 2023. Prior to their current role, they founded their own production company called Benbecula Productions, where they served as the Executive Producer. At Benbecula Productions, they focused on developing content about curious stories and people.

Before starting their production company, Julia worked as an Adjunct Instructor at NYU School of Professional Studies from January 2020 to June 2022. Julia also worked as the Head of Original Storytelling and Content Operations (Video & Audio) at Athletes Unlimited from January 2020 to March 2022, where they oversaw the creation of original content.

Julia has experience in incubator programs as well. Julia co-founded Halo Incubator, a New-York-based incubator that supports women entrepreneurs in shaping business plans and raising capital. Julia was involved in every stage of the incubation process from idea development to seed funding.

Julia also co-founded Lancealot, a venture that they were involved with from April 2017 to May 2020.

Julia has a background in media finance as well. Julia served as a Senior Associate at Chicago Media Angels, an investment group specializing in financing media startups and content from January 2016 to August 2017. Prior to that, they contributed as a writer to the Financial Times Business Education Blog, focusing on topics such as entrepreneurship, venture capital, entertainment, and new media from July 2015 to February 2017.

Before transitioning into the media industry, Julia worked as an Associate Producer at Pennebaker Hegedus Films from September 2011 to July 2015. Julia managed film production, financing, and business development for documentary filmmakers D A Pennebaker and Chris Hegedus, including their film "UNLOCKING THE CAGE" which premiered at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival.

Julia McInnis completed their education in a chronological order. Julia began their academic journey at the United Nations International School from 2001 to 2007, where they received the International Baccalaureate. Following this, Julia attended Trinity College-Hartford from 2007 to 2011, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and International Studies. Finally, they pursued their Master of Business Administration (MBA) at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business from 2015 to 2017, with a focus on Entrepreneurship, Finance, and Marketing.
