Patrick Calder

Chief Engineer at MEBA Dist 1-PCD (AFL-CIO)

Patrick Calder has a diverse work experience in the maritime industry. Patrick started their career as an Engineer at Norwegian Cruise Line in 2005 and was promoted to First Engineer in 2008. In these roles, they were responsible for the operational management of engineering systems, cost-cutting measures, training programs, and compliance with environmental regulations. Patrick also played a key role in negotiating contracts and labor relations. In 2014, they were promoted to Staff Chief Engineer, where they oversaw the entire engineering department and had oversight of technical maintenance, budgets, and infrastructure equipment. Additionally, they were involved in the maintenance and facilities of recreational amenities. Prior to joining Norwegian Cruise Line, they served as a Chief Engineer at MEBA Dist 1-PCD (AFL-CIO) in 2004 and worked as a Project Lead / Consultant at Malin International Ship Repair from 2008 to 2010.

Patrick Calder attended Shead High School from 1996 to 2000. Patrick obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from Massachusetts Maritime Academy, where they studied from 2000 to 2004. Additionally, they received several certifications, including Kaizen in May 2013, Chief Engineer - Unlimited Motor from the U.S. Coast Guard in February 2010, OWS Plant Management from Marinfloc AB in January 2005, and Waste Water Treatment from Scanship in January 2005.
