Elena V. Samarina

Elena V. Samarina has been Mechel PAO’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Operational Efficiency since September 2021.

Prior to this appointment, Ms Samarina headed Mechel PAO’s business planning and analysis department.

In 2005-2009, she worked in RUSAL, working her way up from an economist to finance director of the Secondary Alloys project.

In 2002-2005, she was a senior specialist in the economic planning administration of Norilsk Nickel’s Moscow office.

In 1998-2002, she held various positions in the financial department of Norilsk Nickel’s Polar Division.

Elena Samarina graduated Norilsk State Industrial Institute with a specialty in Mining Industry’s Economics and Management, as well as State Finance Academy. She also earned an MBA at Bauman Moscow State Technical University.
