Daniele Ascani

Daniele Ascani, PhD has worked as the Global R&D Technology Manager and Head of NextAR Development at Medacta International since April 2022. In this role, they are responsible for leading the development of the NextAR augmented reality surgical application. Prior to that, they worked as an R&D Project Manager in the R&D Division at Medacta International from September 2016 to June 2021. Before joining Medacta, they served as an R&D Research Engineer and Industrial PhD at the Insigneo Institute for in silico medicine from September 2013 to September 2015. Daniele also worked as an Associate Research Fellow at NYU Langone Medical Center from February 2011 to January 2013.

Daniele Ascani, PhD, completed their education in the field of bioengineering and biomedical engineering. Daniele obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree from The University of Sheffield from 2013 to 2016. Prior to this, they earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in bioengineering and biomedical engineering from Universitá Politecnica delle Marche in 2010-2011. Daniele also holds a Bachelor's degree in biomedical/medical engineering from the same university, which they obtained from 2006 to 2009. Earlier in their education, they attended Liceo Scientifico "B. Rosetti" from 1999 to 2004, although the specific degree and field of study obtained are unknown. In addition to their formal education, Daniele has obtained certifications in "How to write a Business Plan" from Regione Marche in February 2013 and in IELTS from Cambridge English Language Assessment, also in February 2013.
