Tarek Hussein has had a diverse work experience in various roles and organizations. In 2013, they co-founded Weller Pharmacy and served as its owner and manager. Tarek Hussein is currently working as a Chief Development Officer (CDO) for the International Social Prescribing Pharmacy Association, starting in 2023. In 2019, they co-founded MedaKi and held the position of Chief Clinical Officer. Tarek has also worked as a public speaker for Sessionize.com since 1999. Starting in 2021, they served as Vice President and board member for KEYS Job Centre, and as a Sounding Board Member for PIVOT since 2020. Tarek Hussein has been involved with the Ontario College of Pharmacists, serving as a Practice Assessment of Competence at Entry (PACE) Assessor since 2016 and as a Structured Practical Training (SPT) Preceptor since 2012. Additionally, Tarek worked as a Consultant Pharmacist for Kingston Integrated Healthcare Inc. since 2018. Tarek Hussein has been actively involved with the Greater Kingston Chamber of Commerce, serving as the Chair of the Board of Directors from 2021 to 2022, and in various other roles on the Executive Committee and as a board member since 2018. Prior to these roles, Tarek worked as a healthcare management consultant for various companies starting in 2006.

Tarek Hussein has a diverse education history. Tarek Hussein obtained a Doctor of Pharmacy degree (PharmD) from the University of Toronto from 2022 to 2024, specializing in Pharmacy. Prior to that, they pursued a Post-graduate Certificate in Clinical, Hospital, and Managed Care Pharmacy from the same university from 2010 to 2011.

In the field of Business Administration and Management, Tarek holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from IE Business School, which they completed from 2005 to 2006.

Their earliest educational achievement is a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, which they obtained from Cairo University from 1988 to 1993.
