Alan Gibson

Alan Gibson is currently the CTO at MedAll. Alan has over 20 years of experience in the IT industry, working with a wide range of technologies and engineering practices.

Alan started their career at Civica in July 2000 as a Technical Solutions Architect. In this role, they worked on many large-scale, high-value projects with diverse customers, partners, business domains and technology stacks. Alan gained a wealth of experience in software development, learning that there is no place for a “one size fits all” mentality.

Alan continued to write code alongside the teams they led and mentored to ensure that they stayed relevant and up to date in their role. Alan consistently championed agile engineering and management principles and practices in the belief that simple processes, continual collaboration and relentless automation lead to better solutions, improved quality and happier teams.

Some of their notable achievements include building microservices with Java, Spring Boot, MySQL, Docker & Red Hat OpenShift; web and API development with C#, ASP.NET MVC & SQL Server; and frontend development with Angular. Alan has also worked with customers & partners to design & deliver complex solutions, managed projects using Scrum, and promoted technical discussion and a culture of engineering innovation.

Alan Gibson completed a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Electronic Computer Systems at The University of Salford.
