Jeff Thompson

Dr. Thompson is the former Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Gundersen Health System. He is an internationally recognized leader in healthcare quality. A founding member and past board chair of the Wisconsin Collaborative for Healthcare Quality and a 2013 White House Champion of Change, Dr. Thompson has led Gundersen’s internationally-recognized initiatives for patient care, quality improvement and sustainability. Presently, he serves as Executive Advisor and CEO Emeritus for Gundersen Health System and on the Board of Directors for Practice Greenhealth.

Dr. Thompson is board certified in pediatric critical care, neonatal and perinatal medicine, and pediatrics. He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, as well as their subsections in neonatal and critical care medicine, and is a member of American College of Physician Executives. He has authored numerous articles, book chapters and abstracts on a wide range of healthcare topics.
