Julie Smitherman is an accomplished professional in the field of water resources and customer service, currently serving as the Water Resources and Customer Service Manager at Medford Water since December 2020, where responsibilities have included managing water efficiency and billing. Julie has also held the role of Oregon Water Resources Commissioner for the Southwest Region with the Oregon Water Resources Department since March 2021. Previous experience includes positions as a Water Conservation Specialist at the City of Ashland from May 2012 to December 2020 and as a Conservation Specialist at Medford Water Commission from December 2008 to May 2012. Julie began a career in water resources as a Geology Docent at Ashland Parks and Recreation in early 2008. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science Geology from Southern Oregon University, complemented by studies at Hochschule Harz and the University of Hawai‘i System.
